Cheer Up! (2022)

Quick Take: Cheer Up! (2022), starring Bae In-hyuk and Han Ji-hyun. 8.5/10.  16 episodes 60 minutes each.

Synopsis:   The story follows a university cheer squad through a year, from recruiting and training new members through scandals and competitions.  The team captain and a new member overcome personal issues and the standing rule against couples.  Hanging over the season is the prophesy that one member will die — and a series of accidents that make it seem likely that someone will.

Review: A predictable plot and lack of chemistry between the main couple keeps Cheer Up! in the forgettable category.  I watched it because of Bae In-hyuk, for whom I predict great things. His co-star, not so much.

Rewatchable - 2, Compelling - 2, Plot/ Story/Writing - 8,  Acting/Casting - 8, Production - 10,  Bonus - 5.  Bonus points for costuming and ancillary romances.

Notes:
